Rules of participation

CIO of the Year 2023

Roularta Media Group (Data News) is awarding prizes in the following categories in 2023: CIO of the Year 2023 and ICT / Digital Project of the Year 2023.

The CIO of the Year will be chosen on the basis of a shortlist put together by the jury. The winner of the award CIO of the Year 2023 will be chosen by a professional jury of specialists and by the readers of Data News and Trends (online voting on www.datanews.be/cio).

ICT managers and project leaders can compete for the title ‘ICT / Digital Project of the Year’ by filling in a registration form. A participant presents an ICT project within one aforementioned categories (determined by sector/scope). The jury may decide to change the categorization of each project.

The following criteria will be used by the jury to assess the project: the innovative character of the project, originality of the project, technical execution of the project, business-critical character of the project, management of the project team, attention for communication to users, punctuality of the achievement, etc. This list of criteria is not exhaustive. The following candidatures will not be considered:

  • Nominations from participants employed within companies that belong to the ICT sector (software companies, suppliers of telecommunication equipment, etc.)
  • Nominations from participants who propose a project that leads to or can lead to a commercially marketable product.
  • Nominations from participants that belong to the Roularta Media Group.

The jury assesses the admissibility of the project in full objectivity.

The participant always reserves the right to withdraw, add to or modify their candidacy.

Roularta Media Group (Data News) will deal with all candidatures in a discrete and confidential manner.

The jury assesses with full objectivity. Their decision is final.

The prize can only be awarded to a single person. For group submissions, a person must always be indicated who will ultimately be awarded the prize.

The participant’s participation implies agreement with all the points in this regulation.
